Little Rock  – Heifer Village

It’s been a while since Little Rock, Arkansas, was the sleepy riverside city that its name – after an early river landmark – might suggest. With a metropolitan area of over 720,000 residents, Little Rock is a bustling Southern capital, home to several major universities and colleges, a thriving downtown cultural district, and a presidential library (Bill Clinton’s). What’s more, Little Rock is a growing hub for nonprofits, with several U.S. nonprofits, including Heifer International and Winrock International, making their headquarters in the city.

For information on other things to do in Little Rock, check out the top attractions from Heifer International’s own Holly Dunning.

Heifer International, dedicated to ending world hunger and poverty through sustainable agriculture and commerce, is hosting the 2015 LINGOs Global Learning Forum. Forum activities will take place at the dazzling Heifer Village complex, located next to Heifer’s headquarters, minutes from downtown and the riverfront.

Welcome-to-Heifer-Ranch-2Learning happens everywhere, and sometimes an interactive, hands-on field trip is the best way to connect with an idea – and with your co-learners! Heifer and LINGOs invite Global Learning Forum participants to join us on Friday, October 16 for a post-Forum guided tour of the Heifer Ranch, an educational farm about an hour from Little Rock. You’ll see first-hand the sustainable agriculture practices that Heifer supports, and learn how they can help transform the livelihoods of millions experiencing hunger and poverty.
